VS Raahul of Chennai became International Instructor by crossing the Elo with 2400 points in the 6th Memorijalni Turnir ‘Bozidar Kicovic-Kica’ Open chess competition, which ended in Suncana Reka, Serbia on Sunday.

The 18-year-old had already completed five IM programs and on Sunday completed the Elo-rating requirements, and came out second in the competition tied with six points by Audi Mayor.

The mayor, however, won the race following Buchholz’s approach. Raahul has been coached by Grandmaster RB Ramesh for the past 11 years.
