New Delhi. This time Team Captain Jai Kishan received the Tenzing Norgay National Adventure for Life Time Achievements Award. This has been confirmed by the Ministry of Youth and Sport, Government of India. This honor was bestowed on Captain Jai Kishan at a ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan on November 13. This is the first time that an army officer has received the prestigious Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award for the second time. Back in 2010, Captain Jai Kishan received the award from Aero Sports for making a world record for jumping. This year the ministry has decided to pay tribute to the youth by reflecting on their lifelong commitment to supporting sports.

Team Captain Jai Kishan has now been appointed Principal at the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Darjeeling. He is an avid parachute instructor and well suited for riding. The result of this is that Captain has 6 world records, one Asian record and 6 international records in a thrilling game. In the last 20 years, he has performed 2000 parachute jumps nationally and abroad. Apart from this, he has trained more than 20 thousand para jumers. He flew more than 80,000 troops and led the Indian Air Force. He hikes in India and beyond and trains more than 3,000 mountaineers and hikers.

Captain Jai Kishan’s role has been enormous in making the country a proud place in the world. He has done a great job of promoting fun sports, demonstrating the best leadership in the midst of adversity, rescuing people from unpleasant places and promoting patriotism among the youth. In recognition of the team’s contributions Captain Jai Kishan, he is honored with the Tenzing Norgay National Award.
