Sanjay Bangar was promoted to RCB head coach


Bangar comes with a lot of experience having worked as a batting coach for the Indian main men team for five years since 2014.

The Indian Premier League Royal Challengers Bangalore team on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, promoted beating instructor Sanjay Bangar to the post of head coach for the next two years.

Bangar, who was appointed coach of the team in February, has taken over from Mike Hesson.

Hesson, who remains with the team as Director of Cricket Operations, also wore the helmet of head coach in the second IPL match in the UAE while Australian Simon Katich resigned due to personal reasons.

“Today we have appointed Sanjay Bangar as RCB head coach for the next two years,” Hesson said in a video posted on Twitter.

“Sanjay is highly regarded as a coach, known as a fighter trainer, with more expertise than that.

“Sanjay is very good at building relationships with players and supporters, he does this through his expertise, which is the most important thing we are looking at to grow and develop our team so we are competitors,” added Hesson.

Bangar comes with many experiences having served as battling coach of the Indian senior team for five years from 2014 when Ravi Shastri took over the management of the team. He continued until the 2019 World Cup before being replaced by Vikram Rathour.

Commenting on his new role at RCB, Bangar said, “I have worked with unique and talented members in the team and I can’t wait for the team to reach another level.

“There is a lot of work to be done by the IPL Mega Auctions and next season, but I am confident that together with continued support from management and partners, we can bring the product and bring happiness. Our fans around the world.” India in Test 12 and ODI 15 between 2001 and 2004, its work will be overshadowed by major IPL trade preparations ahead of the new season.
