It is rumored that Laxman’s election will kick off the annual BCCI Annual General Meeting (AGM), to be held in Kolkata on December 4th.

Former India coach VVS Laxman will be the next head of the National Cricket Academy (NCA), a BCCI official confirmed Sunday.

Laxman has replaced his former battling teammate Rahul Dravid, who recently he was chosen as head teacher of the Indian team at the end of the Ravi Shastri era.

“VVS Laxman will be the new leader of the NCA,” the BCCI chief said PTI on an unknown basis.

Laxman has already relinquished his position as IPL coach for Sunrisers Hyderabad and will no longer be in any of the comments or writing articles to avoid violating interest decisions.

It is rumored that Laxman’s election will take effect ahead of BCCI’s Annual General Meeting (AGM), which is due to take place in Kolkata on December 4.

Laxman initially rejected BCCI’s offer because he did not want to leave Hyderabad because the NCA would require him to stay in Bengaluru for at least 200 days.

Two Indian cricketers – Laxman and Dravid – are now working together as BCCI seeks to better coordinate between the Indian head coach and the NCA head coach.

As part of his mission, Laxman will also oversee the preparations for the India U-19 and ‘A’ teams which are the routes to the major leagues.
