This means that somastostatin often inhibits ENSA, which maintains neprilasan levels, and thus destroys AB before storage.

What happened in this study
Following this the study group focused on ENSA in biology. In this case, using CRISPR technology, the ENSA mouse model was developed and assembled with a model mouse that was infected with Alzheimer’s disease. It was found that the accumulation of AB in new mice was significantly lower than in the original mice. This suggested that the amount of ENSA may be a symptom or biomarker of Alzheimer’s, which was not yet known. Studies have shown that ENSA blocks potassium channels in the hippocampus. The hippocampus is the part of the brain where memory is stored.
