Alzheimer’s Disease: There is no prescriptive drug that will stop the flow of emotions, though their effects can be curtailed by the elderly. Thus, continuous studies are being conducted to understand the causes of the disease and how it progresses. That better knowledge of the causes can help prevent and treat. A team of researchers from the RIKEN CENTER FOR BRAIN SCIENCE of Japan, who conducted research on this subject, performed similar medical treatments. Search Which will block the activities of Endosulfine-alpha ie ENSA and may be cheaper and better drugs among the available drugs.
Let us tell you that the main symptom of Alzheimer’s is the accumulation of amyloid B peptide (AB) in the brain. Scientists have been working to find the cause and effect of this phenomenon for decades. The results of this study were published in the journal Molecular Psychiatry. printed it’s happened.
How did the study work?
Researchers at the RIKEN Center of Brain Science Takaomi Saido (Takaomi C. Saido) And his team created a mouse model to understand this, in which AB’s concentration and memory loss are similar to those of humans. With the help of this model, researchers have discovered a number of mechanisms that contribute to the formation of AB component in the brain. A key factor in this is the deficiency of the enzyme neprilysin, which is caused by a deficiency of the hormone somatostatin.
It has been observed that neprilysin and somatostatin levels decrease with age. This is why it is believed that Alzheimer’s is more common in the elderly. In the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease, in a recent study of rats, special attention was given to how somastostatin regulates the dose of neprilsan.
what experts say
According to the first author of the study Naoto Watamura, the first step in doing this was very difficult, because we developed an in vitro system that can control neprilysin regulator in a regulatory medium derived from the hippocampal neuron.
After this experiment, the ENSA was identified as a regulator, and in another experiment it was found that ENSA reduced the activity of neprilysin and neprilysin dramatically increased in rats whose brain had low somastostatin levels. This means that somastostatin often inhibits ENSA, which maintains neprilasan levels, and thus destroys AB before storage.
What happened in this study
Following this the study group focused on ENSA in biology. In this case, using CRISPR technology, the ENSA mouse model was developed and assembled with a model mouse that was infected with Alzheimer’s disease. It was found that the accumulation of AB in new mice was significantly lower than in the original mice. This suggested that the amount of ENSA may be a symptom or biomarker of Alzheimer’s, which was not yet known. Studies have shown that ENSA blocks potassium channels in the hippocampus. The hippocampus is the part of the brain where memory is stored.
