So far 14 people have been killed in torrential rains across Tamil Nadu including Chennai. Currently, there is no hope of relief for people in the rain. Chenai More than 250 people have been transferred to government hospitals in the state. The IMD has predicted low rainfall in many parts of the state but the governments of Nilgiris, Kanyakumari, Vellore, Ranipet and Coimbatore have predicted heavy rains for several days. Tamil Nadu State Revenue and Disaster Management Minister KKSR Ramachandran has announced financial assistance of Rs 4 lakh to families who lost their lives in the state typhoon. The minister confirmed that the bereaved families would be given checks within one week.
