Turn on subtitle / CC for the instructions. Step 1 : Pattern and Materials We all have a pile of fabric like this; too small for a big project, but way too pretty to throw away. This project turns those leftover scraps into a cute little pouch you can use as a bag charm. There are only two pattern pieces for this project, and you can easily draw them yourself. Here I’m using canvas for the exterior.
Cut both panel A and B from the interior fabric as well. Here I’m using cordura (1000 denier nylon fabric). Draw this box on the exterior fabric. Place the vinyl on the box then sew it. Also sew the 3 mm cotton cord for the keyring connector.
Place the cotton cord on the same corner as shown above. Step 2 :Sewing the body Draw this line on good side of the interior fabric. Now bring the good side of these two fabrics together. Cut the corners as seen above. Join these two fabric pieces together.
Now turn the inside out, and make the corners.
Topstitch the top side all around. Now we’re going to sew along the lines we made earlier on the interior fabric. Next, sew the velcro. Now fold the pouch body right at the point that lines up with the top corners.
Do this to all of the 4 corners. Now topstitch along this fold from the top edge down to about 2 cm from the bottom. Next is optional, you can sew the triangles on this side. Now insert the eva sponge into this side. It’ll add structure to the pouch.
Next, sew the bottom side. Step 4 : Sewing the Bottom. Bring the bad side of these panel B’s together, then sew it. Cut the corners for 1cm deep. Next, sew this bottom part all around.
Trim off the sides to make it neat and even for the bias tape. Now sew the bias tape.
This pouch is done, now turn the inside out. Install the keyring..
