The United States is set to host the T20 World Cup in 2024, which could be the starting point for the ICC’s bid to qualify for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

The ICC is expected to provide an opportunity to partner with USA Cricket and Cricket West Indies to participate in the 2024 T20 show.

The ICC has been looking for a long time to give developing countries the freedom to hold major events.

The 2024 T20 World Cup is expected to feature 20 teams with 55 matches compared to 2021 and 2022 editions which have seen 16 teams play 45 matches.
